Message

not necessarily have the time; they just have
the heart."

Many thanks to our club members for
volunteering so many hours of their valuable
time to document the historical events of our
city. If you have never
volunteered, we would love to have you join
us! Covering an event is
easy. Here
are a few pointers.
- Wear your
club membership name badge at all
times. This
identifies you as a club member and will give
you access to special locations that the locals
are not privy to.
- You do not
have to be a professional photographer to
participate...just a passion for
photography.
- Network! Be
sure to spend time with your fellow club
members, network and build
friendships. Not
only do you have a lot more fun when you
do...you can learn a lot from each other.
Also make sure to say hello or interact
with the volunteers and event staff as
well.
- Be sure to
download the photos you take (minus duplicates)
under the Zenfolio Events page within
1 week of the
event.
- The public
can download event photographs for free directly
through the Oviedo Photo Club
website. They will
need to click on "Gallery" and then "Events" to
see their
photos. Just
be sure to remind them that it may take some
time for all the pics to be
uploaded. They
should check back several times after an event
for their
photo.
- Carry a
handful of Oviedo Photo Club business cards with
you. It is a great
way to break the ice and introduce
yourself. We
will try to have these available to distribute
at all the events we
cover.
- Atticus
Printing in Oviedo has our club logo and can
embroider any shirt, bag, or hat you
like. They do a
great job and it is
inexpensive. Their

to the Townhouse
Restaurant).
If you would
like to have a seasoned club member walk around
with you during your first event, just let us
know. We are happy to
show you the
ropes!

Meeting - February
19
Bring 5-7 photos from recent
events or any other pictures
you would like to share. If you have photos that
you would like help with, bring them with
you! If there is time, our club
members can give you pointers on what to
do. Be sure to use a labeled folder
with the date on a thumb drive to store the
photos you want to share. It will make it
easier for our projectionist.

Meeting - March 5
Larry
Gray will present on panoramic photography. The
presentation will look at the camera, lens, and
techniques with and without a tripod. He will
cover the full spectrum 360/180 degree, partial
panoramics, and even smaller ones.
Finally, Larry will discuss software and
presentation.

Trip
Melbourne
Air & Space Show

Our
March field trip will be a visit to the
Melbourne Air Show. The US Air Force
Thunderbirds, stunt aircraft, P-51 Quicksilver
Mustang, vintage aircraft, and exhibits plan to
be there. Gates open at 9 am.
Admission is $16.25 for adults and $9.75 child.

Photo Pit Pass available. For more

City
Hall Gallery Entries Now
Open
Our theme
for the next round of photos in City Hall is
"Four Legged Friends." The
deadline for submissions is March
21, 2018 at
midnight.
The Oviedo
Photo Club has proudly displayed photographs in
the Oviedo City Hall since
2014. Our
curator will select five new photos for City
Hall. The five oldest photos in City Hall
will be moved to the Annex building to replace
five of the photos there.
Submissions
are handled via Dropbox. Send an email to
the club to let us know you wish to
participate. You will be provided a link
to a Dropbox folder to upload your photos.
All files submitted should be suitable for
printing a 16 x 20 print. All photos will
be renamed to be anonymous and submitted to our
curator for the selection process. You
will receive a confirmation email after the
photos are renamed and submitted so you can
verify they have all been provided to the
curator. Once the selection process is
completed, all submissions will be placed into a
nonpublic folder in Zenfolio for everyone to
view. If your photograph is selected,
there is a $25 printing and matting charge.
All photos will be printed by the club for
a consistent appearance and returned to you in
the mat after they have been displayed in City
Hall and the Annex building.

in-store photo classes,
including Basic Digital SLR Class and How To Use
Your Point & Shoot Camera. Classes are
being held Fridays and Saturdays. Call

club logo to your shirts, hats or bags.
You can order shirts and other items
in
several styles and colors from
Atticus Printing or bring in something you
already have and they can embroider the club
logo on it for a small
fee.
